APG|SGA presses ahead with the digital transformation process and further expands its Data Science unit
APG|SGA is systematically investing in the development of innovations, technologies and data. Expertise in customer-centred applications and analysis is being expanded and enhanced, particularly in the Data Science area. As of January 2020, Dr Jeremy Callner will assume responsibility as the Head of Data Science.
Data Science is of crucial importance at APG|SGA. This business area analyses information from existing data sources in order to extrapolate forecasts for advertising customers. The aim is to conduct forward-looking, progressing campaign planning and consequently achieve increased advertising impact through the implementation of analogue, digital and interactive Out of Home media solutions. To this end, an interdisciplinary team processes raw data that is available from various internal and external sources using a wide range of methods and technologies. The focus is on analyses and interpretations that are based on statistical methods, mathematical models, machine learning algorithms and environments for visualizing findings.
New Head of Data Science
From 2020, Dr Jeremy Callner will take up the post of Head of Data Science within these customer-centred interdisciplinary structures. He started his professional career as a concert saxophonist in the US, and then obtained a doctorate in physics at CERN in Geneva.
He has held posts as a data scientist with the swissQuant Group and the SIX Group.
Jeremy will bring to APGISGA an in-depth knowledge of forecasting and interpreting insightful metrics with which advertisers will receive meaningful recommendations for action in addition to statistical reports.
