With effect from 1 January 2023, APG|SGA will introduce a modern and market-oriented pricing system. The pricing model for analogue advertising spaces will be significantly simplified. For Digital Out of Home, APG|SGA is systematically switching to a model based on fixed cost per thousand impressions (CPM). Discounts for both analogue and digital advertising spaces will be expanded to offer advertisers new and attractive opportunities.
The outdoor advertising market has evolved significantly in recent years. The moving-image market, which includes Digital Out of Home (DOOH), is growing rapidly. APG|SGA aims to offer its clients the most flexible solutions and has therefore reviewed and reassessed its pricing and terms model for analogue and digital advertising spaces, which had, in some cases, evolved over time. The result is a modern, comparable and transparent pricing and discount model that is easy for the advertising market to understand and makes planning easier.
Classic posters
From 2023, there will be a single price list with five fixed weekly rates for the F12, F200 and F24 formats in the ‘Streets and Squares’, ‘Railway Stations’ and ‘POI/POS’ communication categories. To this end, APG|SGA’s entire advertising space inventory will be reassessed and recalculated. The following factors will be taken into account when evaluating each individual space: contacts according to SPR+, size, lighting, location, orientation and contact quality. The categories ‘prime’, 1, 2, 3 and 4 will remain in place.
Digital Out of Home
To ensure comparability within the moving image market, the performance of digital screens is now calculated on the basis of the cost per thousand impressions (CPM). Three fixed CPM rates are applied:
ePanels: CPM CHF 12.−
ePanel BrandingZone: CPM CHF 15.−
eBoard: CPM CHF 38.−
When determining the CPMs, performance metrics in accordance with SPR+ are taken into account, along with criteria such as the branding effect resulting from exclusivity and the impact resulting from size and context.
Beat Holenstein, Head of Marketing & Innovation, is convinced: “In a direct comparison with our competitors and other media, we have an extremely attractive CPM, which is also based on the strictest definition of ‘contact’ in the Swiss media landscape. After all, the SPR+ contact metric indicates that the advert has actually been viewed by the human eye.”
Discounts
The ‘Annual Turnover Discount’ (Jura) and ‘Campaign Tiered Discount’ (KSR) are set to become even more attractive with the addition of further tiers and the inclusion of further communication channels. From 2023, the ‘Last-Minute Discount’ can also be applied to digital campaigns.
Andy Bürki, Head of Advertising Market, notes: “For our advertisers, the new pricing and discount models are simpler and, when the out-of-home budget is used effectively, offer new benefits and attractive opportunities. Those who book at short notice are rewarded with a discount on digital bookings, and advertisers who work closely with us benefit even more.”
