APG|SGA’s 2025 Sustainability Report: Significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions

7 May 2026

APG|SGA has published its annual Sustainability Report 2025, thereby once again emphasising the central importance of transparency and measurable progress as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.

In the year marking its 125th anniversary, APG|SGA has achieved significant milestones in the area of sustainability. The Group’s total greenhouse gas emissions were reduced by 46 per cent compared with the previous year. A key factor in this was the switch to renewable electricity at the Group company Alma Quattro d.o.o. in Serbia. As a result, the proportion of renewable electricity across the Group rose from 70 per cent to 100 per cent. APG|SGA has therefore remained on track to meet its emission reduction targets and has achieved the interim target of 100 per cent renewable electricity, originally set for 2025. The electricity purchased in Switzerland for illuminated advertising, digital advertising, all commercial properties and electric vehicles has, since 2014, come entirely from hydropower bearing the ‘naturemade star’ seal of quality, the highest quality standard for green electricity.

In addition to the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions achieved through the switch to renewable electricity, a new fleet strategy was rolled out in 2025, which provides for the gradual electrification of the vehicle fleet and will reduce annual emissions by around 700 tonnes of CO₂ equivalents in future.

APG|SGA’s efforts have been recognised externally: as part of the recertification audit for the EcoEntreprise label, the company achieved the highest level, ‘EcoEntreprise Excellence’. Furthermore, the company once again received the top grade of ‘A’ in the ‘Climate’ category of the international CDP rating, placing it among the world’s leading companies in terms of the transparency and quality of its climate reporting. Its renewed certification as a ‘Great Place to Work’ confirms its commitment to social responsibility and a culture of mutual respect.

With its 23rd sustainability report, APG|SGA reaffirms its commitment to embedding corporate social responsibility as an integral part of its business operations. Systematic reporting and consistent greenhouse gas accounting remain key tools for measuring progress and actively driving the company’s sustainable transformation.

Note on the cover image
The cover image of the sustainability report shows the restored floodplain area at Reussegger Schachen in Sins, Aargau. Along new tributaries of the Reuss, steep and gentle banks, sandbanks and pools have been created to provide a habitat for numerous animal and plant species, many of which are threatened with extinction. Around a fifth of the project costs were covered by ewz’s ‘naturemade star’ fund. By purchasing ‘naturemade star’ electricity, APG|SGA contributes to the financing of biodiversity projects.
