APG|SGA has installed six new City ePanels in prime locations in Chiasso town centre

APG|SGA, in collaboration with the local council and its cultural centre, has launched six new double-sided City ePanels in the town of Chiasso. These combine interactive city information with advertising messages. Switzerland’s leading outdoor advertising company is thus contributing to public information whilst simultaneously offering attractive advertising opportunities at high-traffic locations. The interactive city information system will be available from autumn 2024.

The new City ePanels give the local authority, as well as local, national and international advertisers, the opportunity to use modern screens to display their messages. The ‘Smart City’ of Chiasso and the cultural centre will also benefit from digital communication solutions from autumn 2024 onwards. Thanks to a touchscreen, passers-by can navigate the interface to access up-to-date information relevant to them about Chiasso. Details on opening hours, hotels, events, museums and local maps from Google Maps can be accessed by touching the screen and downloaded to a smartphone via a QR code. On the other hand, advertisers can easily broadcast their campaigns with animations.

The new City ePanels (75 inches) are energy-efficient and powered by green electricity. They are situated in prime locations in the museum quarter, near the railway station and in the central piazza. The advertising spaces can now be booked and displayed individually or flexibly via programmatic advertising. The interactive city information system will be available from autumn 2024.

The City ePanels in Chiasso are part of a pilot project with AGE SA, as they were the first in the canton of Ticino to be connected to the fibre-optic network and operate via this connection. They are equipped with Wi-Fi and provide added value for the local community by linking to the Chiasso municipal website and representing an innovative form of connectivity with the SmartCity.
