Following its success in the tender process, APG|SGA is set to massively expand its billboard advertising portfolio in the canton of Zurich with effect from 1 January 2026

APG|SGA has emerged victorious from a competitive tender process organised by the Civil Engineering Office of the Canton of Zurich and has been awarded the contract for all 672 billboard spaces put out to tender. The 672 spaces, predominantly in the F12 and F200 formats, are spread across the entire canton and are situated along major transport routes in prime locations. The canton put the spaces out to tender in three lots. APG|SGA has secured all three lots and thus the exclusive marketing mandate from 1 January 2026 for at least five years. Until now, the majority of the spaces had been marketed by a competitor.

In February 2025, the Canton of Zurich launched a tender for the marketing of all analogue and digital advertising spaces on land owned by the Civil Engineering Office and the Cantonal Roads Fund.

The 672 sites were divided into three lots. Tenders could be submitted for individual lots and/or as a single bid covering all three lots. Bidders were required to submit a financial bid as well as a market development strategy including a marketing plan, the bidder’s targets for turnover and occupancy rates, and a description of the planned organisational and marketing structure.

APG|SGA has been awarded the contract for all three lots by the Canton of Zurich. In one fell swoop, the leading outdoor advertising provider’s portfolio has thus been significantly expanded – both in terms of quantity and quality – by several hundred advertising spaces in prime locations. Furthermore, the market leader has secured the exclusive right to install further digital advertising media within the canton.
