The ‘WOOHW!’ creative competition is being launched under the patronage of the ‘AWS Verband Aussenwerbung Schweiz’. In autumn 2023, this new national industry event will take place for the first time, featuring specialist presentations, an awards ceremony and a big party.
The ‘Swiss Poster Award’, organised by APG|SGA, and the ‘DOOH Award’, initiated by Clear Channel Switzerland, are to be merged into a new competition. This will provide the successful ‘Out of Home’ medium and the entire communications and creative industry with a platform that has national reach and broad support, as Neo Advertising and Horizon are also joining as equal partners.
Over the coming weeks, the AWS, together with the president-elect of the jury, Christian Brändle, Director of the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, will define the award categories and assemble a high-calibre jury of experts.
Markus Ehrle, CEO of APG|SGA and President of AWS, and Christoph Marty, CEO of Clear Channel Switzerland and Vice-President of AWS, are delighted, together with Christian Vaglio, CEO of Neo Advertising, and Etienne Reignoux, CEO of Horizon, to be making this event possible, in order to give outdoor advertising the showcase it deserves. To this end, the most prestigious and long-established poster competition, the ‘Swiss Poster Award’, and the contemporary accolade for the best digital poster campaigns, the ‘DOOH Award’, are joining forces to create a new, dynamic award and event: ‘WOOHW!’. The award and the entire event embody the expression of enthusiasm (WOW!) and reflect the captivating power of Out of Home (OOH).
This initiative for a new, joint platform, ‘WOOHW!’, highlights the defining and lasting significance of the poster – whether in traditional or digital form – in the Intermedia competition, and recognises the quality of the design work, the innovative power, the creativity and the impact of outdoor advertising.
