Zurich’s Bahnhofplatz is once again included in APG|SGA’s portfolio

13 May 2024

Zurich City Transport (VBZ) has awarded APG|SGA the contract to manage the 64 Premium F12 illuminated billboards on Bahnhofplatz, in the heart of Zurich. This brings things full circle: when Europe’s longest tram shelter was inaugurated in 2004, APG|SGA took over the marketing and held the contract until 2016. The current contract with Livesystems AG – which has been part of Swiss Post since mid-2021 – was terminated early by mutual agreement with the VBZ. Following this, VBZ invited the marketing companies that had submitted bids in the 2021 tender to submit offers for the remaining term of the contract.

From 1 August 2024, APG|SGA will be marketing a total of 64 F12 premium illuminated advertising spaces, arranged in groups of four and separated by transparent glass modules. Europe’s longest tram shelter on Bahnhofplatz, which was originally designed and built by the architectural firm Dürig AG, will also be an eye-catcher from an advertising perspective. APG|SGA plans to market the illuminated advertising spaces in the tram shelter as a complete branding package in blocks of four, as individual blocks of four, or as individual spaces. This will enable both national and regional clients to benefit from a strong presence with high footfall at one of Switzerland’s absolute prime locations.

Beat Holenstein, Head of Marketing & Partner Market, says: “We are very proud to have Bahnhofplatz back in our portfolio. We will market this prime location in a way that befits its status: with the highest quality, offering flexibility for both large and small clients, whether as a comprehensive branding solution with a striking presence or as individual spaces for smaller budgets.”
