APG|SGA’s sustainability strategy

Corporate Social Responsibility, or sustainability, is one of the six values – alongside enthusiasm, partnership, entrepreneurship, integrity and transparency – that are set out in APG|SGA’s mission statement and embedded in our day-to-day work. The sustainability strategy is an integral part of the corporate strategy and is based on APG|SGA’s Purpose, Promises and Principles.

The sustainability strategy takes into account all of APG|SGA’s relevant stakeholders and focuses on key issues across the three areas of People, Planet and Profit. Its consistent implementation helps to the 10 Principles of the UN Global Compact to comply with and make an active contribution to achieving the following Sustainable Development Goals:

APG|SGA’s SDGs

Gender pay equality at APG|SGA has been independently audited and certified with the ‘Fair-ON-Pay Advanced’ certificate. Diversity in management positions will continue to increase in the coming years.

APG|SGA has been using 100% green electricity certified under the ‘naturemade star’ label since 2012. All electricity purchased for buildings, electronic advertising displays and electric vehicles is sourced from renewable hydropower. Solar panels at some sites cover part of the company’s own energy requirements.

For almost 125 years, APG|SGA has been creating added value for over 500 employees, as well as for partners and advertising clients. We place great importance on gender pay equality and support individual training and professional development. We ensure that social standards and labour rights are upheld throughout our supply chain.

When it comes to product development, product optimisation and innovation, APG|SGA relies on efficient processes and technologies. The advertising spaces make a valuable contribution to the survival and development of local businesses and SMEs.

Through the sustainable and energy-efficient nature of our products and services, we support cities and local authorities in achieving their energy targets. We take our commitment to a successful energy transition and resource conservation very seriously, and are constantly making improvements to our advertising infrastructure. Advertising staff ensure that the areas surrounding our advertising infrastructure (such as bus stops, platform benches and telephone boxes) are kept in good condition.

APG|SGA is committed to reducing energy consumption and cutting CO₂ emissions. We are replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy sources wherever this makes sense from a technical and environmental perspective. We have been using 100% green electricity with the ‘naturemade star’ label since 2012. We aim to achieve ‘net-zero’ emissions by 2035.

In addition to its commitment to complying with all compliance and anti-corruption guidelines – which goes without saying – APG|SGA contributes, through its outdoor advertising, to providing the public with independent and accessible information.

Closely linked to the sustainability strategy is the APG|SGA Environmental Policy.
