Successful 3D implementation on APG|SGA’s digital screens

To capture people’s attention, it is more important than ever for companies to captivate their audience with compelling stories and visual experiences. 3D displays in outdoor advertising are perfectly suited to this purpose and transform adverts into spectacular experiences that are guaranteed to attract attention. Together with AXA Versicherungen AG, APG|SGA has successfully implemented the first 3D display on digital screens at Zurich main station.

Campaign and objective

Just in time for the start of the 2023 school year, AXA launched its new prevention campaign: ‘Bigger than you think – experience the journey to school through a child’s eyes’. The aim of the campaign was to enable adult road users to put themselves in children’s shoes and to raise their awareness of the dangers children face in road traffic.

Implementation

In the concourse of Zurich Main Station, an elaborately designed, oversized replica of a traffic scene, centred around a gigantic car, was set up for three days. This setting enabled adults to see the world through a child’s eyes and experience their perspective first-hand.

To guide commuters to this special promotion, ‘Max the Badger’ waved cheerfully in 3D from the large Rail eBoard in the station concourse. Enthusiastic visitors were able to have their photo taken with the gigantic vehicle and thus become part of the campaign, with the images being displayed simultaneously on the digital screens at Zurich Main Station. It wasn’t just the 3D displays that attracted a lot of attention. Posters and digital screens provided by APG|SGA at Zurich’s Enge, Hardbrücke, Stadelhofen and Oerlikon stations, as well as at the main station, successfully drew attention to the campaign.

“The campaign embodies the essential role of out-of-home media as a dynamic medium in mass communication. It enabled us to reach a broad target audience and raise awareness of our message. The integration of innovations across APG|SGA’s digital surfaces not only highlights the creative evolution of the advertising industry, but also the lasting impact of such approaches on a broad audience, with whom we were able to intensify our interaction.” – Manuela Kohler, Advertising Manager at AXA Versicherungen AG
