APG|SGA receives top score of A in the global CDP rating

January 12, 2026

APG|SGA appears on the international “A List” of the global environmental organisation CDP, underscoring its leading position in corporate transparency and performance in the area of climate protection. APG|SGA uses various measures to achieve its own climate and environmental goals.

APG|SGA was awarded the top score of A for the transparency and quality of its climate protection reporting in environmental organisation CDP’s annual rating for 2025. APG|SGA is therefore one of only 4% of the 22'100 companies evaluated to appear on the “A List”. These 877 companies are characterised by their corporate transparency and their pioneering role in the fight against climate change.

CDP evaluates companies using a detailed and independent methodology. The rating, which ranges from A to D-, is based on a company’s disclosure, understanding and management of environmental risks and its approach to climate targets. Despite the ever-increasing demands of the CDP standards, APG|SGA exceeded its strong performance in previous years and achieved the top score of A for the first time since 2020. This increase can be attributed, among other things, to climate targets and the clearly defined reduction pathway, as well as to a stronger focus in the supply chain.

The top rating reflects the company’s targeted implementation of its corporate social responsibility strategy (CSR strategy). Reducing the Group’s CO2 emissions plays a key role in this. APG|SGA has therefore committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2045. This process follows a roadmap guided by science-based climate targets, with short- and long-term absolute targets for reducing emissions at the company level. These will be implemented in the following stages:

  • By 2030: reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 85% and Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 45% from a base year of 2023.
  • By 2035: reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 95% from a base year of 2023.
  • By 2045: reducing absolute Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 90% from a base year of 2023.

The ambitious APG|SGA climate targets were reviewed and validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) at the end of 2024, contributing to a high CDP rating.

Markus Ehrle, CEO of APG|SGA, says: “We are delighted to be able to highlight one aspect of our long-standing sustainability efforts through our excellent CDP rating. Inclusion in the “A List” is a special distinction that proves that we provide transparent information to our stakeholders and that APG|SGA operates sustainably.”

The APG|SGA commitment to climate protection

  • APG|SGA has set itself ambitious climate protection targets and is aiming to achieve net-zero emissions by 2045.
  • Throughout Switzerland, APG|SGA uses 100% “naturemade star-certified” green electricity from Swiss hydropower or solar electricity from its own PV systems at its Lausanne, Wallisellen and Zurich sites. Since 2025, Serbia has also purchased 100% of its electricity from renewable sources.
  • The APG|SGA fleet, consisting of passenger cars and small commercial vehicles, is in the process of being switched to electric drives.
  • Upgrades to more energy-efficient technologies (e.g. LED) are leading to continuous improvements in the APG|SGA product portfolio. Constant dialogue with suppliers is key to achieving emissions reductions in the supply chain.

CDP raises the benchmark every year
Every year, CDP uses a comprehensive questionnaire to check whether companies are effectively helping to limit the global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. The disclosure and scoring process managed by CDP, a non-profit organisation, is the gold standard for transparent environmental performance and corporate responsibility. CDP uses a detailed, independent methodology to assess participating companies and score these on a scale of A (best result) to D-. It considers such criteria as extent of the disclosure, awareness and management of environmental risks, and implementation of best practices in environmental leadership, along with the setting of ambitious, meaningful and science-based targets. The CDP questionnaire benchmark is developed and raised every year to ensure that even high-scoring companies continue to improve.
