APG|SGA is still clear market leader in Basel and receives contract for 22 new digital City ePanels
On 1 February 2017, the City of Basel published its decision on the "tender for posters on public land in the Canton of Basel-Stadt". APG|SGA has been awarded the contract for all the existing spaces with formats F200, F12 and F4, as well as for over 250 F200 backlit posters at absolute prime locations. This is practically all the F200L sites in the City of Basel. APG|SGA has also secured the rights for poster advertising on construction site hoardings and the option of exclusively implementing nine illuminated revolving columns at top locations. In addition, the market leader has also been awarded the most promising lot – lot 6 – with a total of 22 new digital City ePanels at premium sites. This not only ensures that APG|SGA remains the market leader in analogue advertising, but expands its leading position in the digital segment too. The new contract runs from 1 January 2018 for a period of 10 years.
The City of Basel launched its tender process with a total of 11 lots in early September 2016. These lots contained different offers – for example, the analogue, commercial poster boards were divided up. Some of the lots contained small posters for cultural institutions or temporary advertising on construction site hoardings. This time, digital advertising media were also put out for tender. APG|SGA applied for individual lots and has secured seven of a total of nine commercial lots. These seven lots also include all spaces with formats F200, F12 and F4. In the analogue segment, APG|SGA also won the lot with more than 250 F200 backlit posters. The market leader’s concept for nine illuminated revolving columns evidently impressed the City of Basel the most, as both this lot and the one for construction site hoardings also went to APG|SGA. The heart of the tender – the implementation of 22 digital advertising boards – was also awarded to APG|SGA. As of 1 January 2018, the market leader will thus be able to provide customers in the city of Basel
with an extensive and uniform network of City ePanels at the very best locations. With the 22 additional spaces, APG|SGA is increasing its portfolio of digital advertising screens to 52 City ePanels altogether. As in the cities of Zurich, Winterthur and Biel/Bienne, simple animations in 10-second slots are permitted. Customers therefore benefit from a standardized offering as regards production and screening.
